What Did MacOS Apps Do to Become the Industry Leader?
macOS comes with a whole suite of exquisitely designed apps that turned out to be the best.
The best thing I love about the macOS is its enriched ecosystem of amazing apps.
It doesn't matter whether it is about productivity, video or photo editing, security suites, or anything else; I hunt straight for the perfect macOS app with no snags along the way.
I directly head for the Apple app store and stumble on a sea of apps where plenty of great apps are available for free.
Every single app exhibits the best model of a beautiful design interface. Here, I found what makes the macOS apps the best of all.
1. Well-designed UI elements & UI guidelines
The UI guidelines are precise and concise, making them easy for developers to follow.
On the other hand, the UI elements from the macOS are designed exceptionally well.
2. Exquisite Design
When I first encountered macOS, I was blown away by the system's beautiful design engineering.
The frequent exposure to suitable design interfaces made me addicted to it.
3. Developers' Mindset
Another exciting trend I explored is that the developers who develop apps for Mac are primarily conscious of their choice to use a Mac while developing apps.
Everything is so seamless that the developers go in line with it to create an exceptional user interface and a better user experience simultaneously.
After exploring its incredible apps with beautiful layouts and competent performance, I fall in love with macOS.
Among the many applications available on macOS, let me discuss a few that became the best in making my life easier.
1. Alfred
Alfred lies among productivity apps; it is an application launcher for macOS that I downloaded for free (however, I'd like the option to switch to the premium version).
It plays the role of Siri on my Mac, which helps me save time and lets me control my Mac from the keyboard. In addition, it offers a quick search for applications and files on Mac using hotkeys and web pages with keyword suggestions.
The free version also helps execute web searches and find word definitions and offers a spell-checker and calculator.
Moreover, it helps me manage my clipboard with a convenient interface for controlling the Mac with system commands.
I will have to be hypercritical to find deficiencies in this application. But, I will say I couldn't survive without Alfred.
2. Amphetamine
I wonder how I survived the times with my Mac until I learned about Amphetamine. When I had to download large files and software, my Mac used to get more sleepy than I did.
I would sit there, staring at the screen, willing it to speed up. But alas, my Mac seemed to be in its world, moving at its own pace. I learned to be patient, knowing that eventually, the download would complete, and my Mac would wake up from its slumber.
It used to go to sleep automatically after a few minutes of inactivity.
Suddenly, Amphetamine came into the picture and enabled me to keep my Mac alive for as long as I wished.
With Amphetamine by my side, I felt unstoppable, ready to conquer any task that came my way. It was a game-changer, a true lifesaver in the world of technology.
3. Spark
Spark is another macOS app that emerged to me when I was fed up with unnecessary emails and struggled to filter them out.
Spark was the perfect solution with its smart inbox, customizable notifications, and intuitive interface.
Managing my emails has become a breeze, allowing me to focus on more important tasks without feeling overwhelmed by a flood of messages.
Spark enabled me to build control over my emails with solid filters.
It is a simple, intelligent, and speedy app that works with Gmail, iCloud, and Outlook.
It lacks iOS features, including sharing extension support and cloud storage.
Final Thoughts.
In short, the exquisite design and a better user interface made the macOS apps become the best.
Using a Mac is delightful. I’m not sure that can be said about Windows.
